Tomato & Ginger Jam

I have never been a big fan of jam, but this one is different. Very different because I’m obsessed and I’ve already finished half of the jar as I’m typing this.

So yes you have to try it!





Makes 1 jar


  • 1 small white onion
  • 1 400g can of of peeled tomatoes
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 – 1 1/2 tbsp agave sirup
  • salt
  • cayenne
  • pepper
  • thyme
  • 1/2 tspagar agar



Cut the onions into very small cubes and saute in a small saucepan. As soon as the onions turn translucent add in the remaining ingredients except for the agar agar, stir well to make sure the tomatoes are not to chunky. Bring the mix to a boil and let it simmer for about 5 mins. Then gradually add the agar agar while stirring. Keep stirring for about 5 more mins. Then pour the yam into a glass jar and put it in the fridge and let its cool for about 1-2 hours before serving.
