Tumeric is not just the magic yellow spice that gives curry und yellow mustard its bright and vivid color it’s also a pretty amazing health supplement that you should seriously consider including in your diet.
The fact that tumeric is one of the healthiest spices out there is no secret these days. Its crazy anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties are essential in chinese and indian medicine. Tumeric has also been linked to relief of chronic inflammation and rheumatoid arthritis. It is supposed to help with depression and is beneficial for your all over brain health and memory. It also has anti aging properties amongst many more.
However just eating a lot of mustard and curry will not do the trick because you are not getting enough of it. Another amazing and delicious way to include tumeric into your diet is tumeric latte. I’ve become seriously obsessed as of late, even swapping out my morning matcha lattes with tumeric lattes. Which has also helped a lot with my energy levels because I no longer feed my body with stimulants. So here is a fast an easy recipe for this crazy delicious health treat.
- 1 c oatmilk
- 2 tbsp coconut cream (from the top of a can of coconut milk)
- 1 tsp tumeric
- a pinch of cinnamon
- a pinch of vanilla
- liquid sweetener to taste
In a small saucepan heat up the oatmilk and then transfer together with the remaining ingredients into a blender and blend for about 30 seconds. This will create the amazing foamy texture of the latte.
Note: You can substitute the coconut cream with coconut oil. It is important however to include fat, so your body can absorb all the goodness.
